The _starter_publishing.master is nice, but I would like to move my logo above the Site Actions, Browse etc area. Is this possible? I tried dragging my logo to the area above the SPRibbon but the area is not high enough and I cannot change the height. Also, I am trying to make the Top Navigation bold, and although it does appear in the template, it does not render in the browse. I am new to this so any assistance would be appreciated.

If I make a change in site actions -> site settings -> navigation and choose to hide a link, or change current navigation options - my options are not reflected. So - I choose to hide a link and the link stays veiwable.

I am using the publishing master page choice. I have publishing turned on at both the root site and site level.

Well it looks like I found my answer.

I commented out

function ProcessImn(){}

function ProcessImnMarkers(){}

</script>

And replaced it with

<SharePoint:ScriptLink language="javascript" name="init.js" OnDemand="true" runat="server"/>

I am using this as my masterpage starter when build on both prem and in cloud. My challenge now is that Presence is being completely suppressed and is not coming up. Any ideas on why it is not coming up and how to fix? Since this is internal, there is an expectation that Presence be there...

I'm having trouble using your MasterPage's template with the key filters .

I'm able to make it appears (I'm talking about the area named "key filters" in the bottom of the left panel treeview) but it's not functionnal...

Did you know if there is a specific control or placeholder I have to use to make the key filters available ?

I have added the div with id="s4-workspace" and clean page with CSS.

I ran through trying to debug this with someone over email... this was the end results:

Essentially, we had removed the "ID='s4-workspace'" from the <div class="s4-nosetwidth">. This was a change that was reflected in your updated version, but we were having all sorts of problems with it so we had simply removed the ID. Eventually we had added it back in, but not in its original location. This is what was causing the error. Once I moved it up to read: <div ID="s4-workspace" class="s4-nosetwidth">, and added some CSS to fix the additional scrolling, the calendars worked like a dream!

Is there any chance you are not trying this with the stock latest version of the starter master page. Could you double check this for me and if the problem persists email me from the contact form on blog.drisgill.com. Note: I'll be out of the office for a few days so you may not hear back right away.

Has anyone found any solution to this problem?

My steps are:

1. Set starter as site master page

2. Create a new empty web part page

3. Add my list with its calendar view within a web part area

4. Save page

Actually no, the public sites for SharePoint online are a completely different mechanism. You are not supposed to edit master pages (in fact I broke mine pretty good trying :) Instead you are just overriding CSS and the HTML classes are completely different from the traditional SharePoint HTML markup. In some ways it is easier. I suggest using Firebug and IE Dev Tools to understand the CSS.

yes 64 bit.

tried the same rendered page on a 32 bit windows os, and datasheet rendered fine.

I guess its a component malfunctionr, and not something missing from the master page code.

Hi I am using the starter master page in a site - with minimal mods.

Everything works great except! datasheet view.

Scenario:

Use IE9 - pretty liberal settings / trusted site (sharepoint foundation 2010).

Visit a page that is rendered using this master (the master by the way has been specified as the default).

Site Actions > View All Site Content > Shared Documents > Open the Ribbon (shows Standard View) > Click on Datasheet View

IE pops up a window saying:

The list cannot be displayed in datasheet view for the following reasons: Active X component, etc.

Could it be IE9?

Anyone else facing this. Ive have NO other issues by using the master pages. I did very little mods to the starter pages / is there some code missing that would enable the Datasheet???

New Post: Dispform.ifs overrides left navigation style

I created a custom style and applied it to the left navigation using CssClass="MyLeftNav". This worked perfectly throughout the site, except on the form pages customized with infopath.

Any page that uses the "dispifs.aspx" gets 90% of the master page, but puts its own <ASP:MENU...> tag in with the "s4-ql" style. I don't want to override the entire s4-ql style so I'm trying to get the dispifs.aspx to work correctly. The other attempt I made disconnected the dispform from the master page, which is not acceptable either.

Has anyone run into this before?
